You will enjoy the thrill of this climbing site newly developed by Rock Climbing Lebanon. \nBeit Mery is located 16 kilometers away from Beirut\, with an approximate elevation of 750 meters above sea level\, which gives the town views of the Beirut peninsula and part of Lebanon’s Mediterranean coast. \n\n\nGeneral Information:\nThis crag is TECHNICAL\, with routes graded from 5b+ up to 6c+. \nLevels: MODERATE to advanced\, i.e. NOT for first-timers \nWear a loose & comfortable top\, that gives you maximum freedom of movement. Choose long pants to protect your knees from scratches & abrasions.\nKeep a wind stopper and fleece jacket on you all the time\, as the weather is getting colder\, with the possibility of rain. \nOf course\, having your climbing shoes is a MUST. DESCRIPTION:Look back a few years ago into your childhood\, place yourself in those shoes and ask yourself: Would I have imagined the current me\, hiking the wilderness\, exploring the cosmos\, climbing cliffs\, all that while being harbored by the beautiful grace of our mountains\, Laqlouq. \nU ROCK and BeirutVersus have joined hands in making this real. Seasoned climbers and astrophotographers take you on a journey during the Perseids meteor shower of this year. \nOn Saturday afternoon we will depart from Beirut to set up camp in Laqlouq. We will have an easy evening hike and head to the camp-site. Once set by the cliffs we will engage in a two-tier activity\, night climbing till midnight with U ROCK as the moon is setting and then exploring the night with live astrophotography and observational astronomy brought to you by BeirutVersus. \nThe night skies will be extremely generous as the Perseids meteor shower is peaking\, you will be seeing dozens of shooting stars while understanding deep insights about our universe. \nWaking up on Sunday morning\, you’ll have the chance to practice climbing the whole day with U ROCK\, whether you’re a novice who would like to learn or an advanced climber joining for the experience. \nThe journey’s camping part\, food supplies\, and transportation are on you\, bring your tents\, snacks\, sleeping bags and join us!
